Fronted by personal trainer Karl Hinett

a wounded veteran with years of race experience and over 145 official marathon events under his belt, we would like to welcome you into this new community, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced runner.

Led by Karl Hinett, himself a wounded veteran and now a highly experienced long distance runner (on all terrain, climates and continents), members can expect group training runs to races along roads and trails, from 5k’s to marathon distance and more!
Karl is a qualified level three personal trainer and has recently enrolled on courses to advance his qualifications, so as to be better suited to the role of organiser of the Team Endeavour Running Club.
Karl found therapy through running and has to date ran countless short distance races and over 145 races of marathon distance and beyond.
He aims to provide guidance for complete beginners to seasoned runners, and introduce the empowering benefits running can give.
Karl hopes to share his new passion with as many of you as possible, and proves that as long as you start somewhere, anything is possible.

There is no prerequisite experience required – please just get in touch and come and join in.

Long distances became a favourite which encouraged my motivation. I started to run marathon events and after my five years of surgery was over, I ran 100 official marathons across the globe in two years. Now qualified as a Personal Trainer, running is still a huge part of my training, and I believe that this simple, easily accessible and often overlooked sport helped me so much that I want to bring it to the WIS community, in the hope that it can help others like it helped me

About us

We aim to encourage as many wounded, injured and sick to participate in the sport of running as possible. Supported by The Endeavour Fund, part of The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, we hope to establish a wide reaching running club, making the sport more accessible to all beginners and experienced runners alike, all within a friendly community environment. We hope that through running, all those involved can find new support networks, peer mentoring, training and running partners and of course friendships with likeminded people.

The club aims to build a support network for WIS through the medium of running with a team, be that the odd hour when you can, longer training days or road or trail events.

How
it works

We will arrange training sessions 2-3 times a month, led by Karl, just come along to whatever you can – we will share news and updates on everything that we are doing on the website and across our social media pages.

In the Midlands alone there are enough officially organised events to run between 1-2 a month. The TERC team has contact with all race organisers and will secure as many places as we can.

Every week we will take part in local volunteer organised races called ‘Park Runs’. All are 5K races and entry is free of charge – providing a great and non competitive way to get involved slowly ! It is not expected that the whole team will enter every race, but rather the TERC team will be represented by some members at least at 1 or 2 events per month.

Members can take part in many ways if they are restricted by time, ability or inclination - including independent training whilst remaining connected through the social media group, joining team training events local or further afield and of course joining our TERC running events.
